Getting Back to The BORO

As you return to The Boro, we are committed to helping you get to work. We understand your hours, schedule, and commute to the office have changed. Our goal is to provide you with updated transportation-related information and tips for staying safe and happy during your commute back to the office.

Your trip on the Metro has changed, as WMATA takes several actions to keep you safer and provide a more efficient experience. These include new hours, air filtration systems on all trains and buses, mobile pay, upgraded fare gates, and more! Visit WMATA’s website for more details.

Greensboro Station

The Boro is quick walk from Greensboro Metro Station on the Silver Line, giving you direct access to Arlington, D.C., Reston, and many more places in the region.

Stay Safer on Metro

Metro has implemented several measures to keep you safer on your next ride.

Air Ventilation – WMATA Metrorail’s air ventilation and filtration system described: outside air flowing in, returning air circulates through filters. Every three minutes, fresh air is filtered through each railcar.

Requiring Face Coverings – Face masks are required by federal law on trains, buses, and in Metro stations.

Hand Sanitizing Stations – Hand sanitizing stations are dispersed in Metro stations and on trains

Deep Cleaning – All trains are deep cleaned every day.

Expanding Service – Restoration of certain routes, expansion of late-night service and more frequent buses along selected routes gives riders greater flexibility.

Mobile Pay

With the SmarTrip app, you can instantly add an existing SmarTrip card, purchase a new digital card, add funds, buy passes, check balances, set up Auto Reload, and manage SmartBenefits from your employer, all from the palm of your hand. With mobile pay, you can quickly scan your digital SmarTrip card before boarding the Metro or bus using Google Pay on Androids or Apple Wallet on iPhones.

Adding your SmarTrip cards to your mobile device keeps all your cards in one place and skip the fare vending machines in stations when you’re in a hurry.
